What are the Production Techniques or Materials Involved in Polishing

When Polishing materials known as abrasives are used to smoothen the surface of the piece. This is done by using a machine that has a rotating polishing wheel. The microscopic layer of the metal is removed from the piece until the surface becomes more even.

Different types of abrasives are chosen or used depending on the surface requirement for each piece.  Matt finishes require a certain type of abrasive, whereas shiny finishes require another. Textures are added by hand with skilled workers either before the polishing process or after. Each technique is different and requires high skills sets and long practiced knowledge to get right.
